I remember when....

I saw this on my friend Tammy's blog and since I want to be just like her I'm adding it to mine too. (love ya Tammy!) Even all you who don't leave comments now- please leave me a memory. 1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! 2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. Thanks for the great idea Tammy!

New blog header...

Well, I'm a little late getting a new blog header on since Aug. is almost over and this one was specifically for July.. Oh well. Here's the most recent- very simple but fun one. And of course, in keeping with tradition, here's what the July header looked like...

I was going to use the header below for this month but found it to be too drab.. plus, I couldn't get the whole blog page to have colors that went well enough with it to work.. so I used the flower one above instead. I need to plan some more so I have them ready for the coming months..

Ranch withdrawls...

So, Leah and I went to the ranch this weekend to make sure mom & dad got settled in. (they left on Tuesday to go down for their belated "summer". The weather was BEAUTIFUL. It rained a little bit Saturday evening, but Saturday night (about 12:30 am) - it poured.. the Thunder was LOUD and there was some serious lightening. It was fantastic! We stayed late Sunday night waiting for it to rain again.. We sat outside from 7:00 to 8:00 just watching it rain. The Lightning was incredible and very close. I think it was making mom nervous that we were sitting on the porch with it so close... but we enjoyed every minute of it. Plus there was a cool breeze.. it was almost chilly. Saturday I cleaned out the utensil drawers, the cups, plates, bowls, mixing bowls etc cabinets and washed everything. Not to worry it took 5 hours.. but it was great to have it done. So, Saturday night Leah made lemon bars.. we had a piece before we went to bed- she made it late in the evening so it was still too warm to eat when mom went to bed so she didn't get a piece- even though she wanted one. She put a towel over it and left it on the old stove. After dinner on Sunday she got it out so she could put some on a plate to take home for a treat and apparently the mice wanted some Saturday night too. There were mouse droppings all over the pan. It was devistating. Lesson learned.. don't leave anything on the old stove, and make sure you cover it with something secure- not a dish towel. Anyway we got a good laugh out of it.. Can't wait to go back again. I LOVE the rainy season down there.
