I GOT A JOB!

So, I got a call from the Chase recruiter today.. I was offered a job. It's not what I applied for, and it means a pay cut and less vacation time, but it's a job and I'll have real insurance and good benefits! So, I'll be starting on May 5th as a Closer/Funder. (instead of the Supervisor of that area that I used to be... Oh well, less responsibility for me which believe me -I'm not sad about. I'll finally be responsible for only me again!) I am so excited. What a relief to know I'm employed and will have an income coming again! I'll definitely be able to sleep much better tonight. I go tomorrow for fingerprints and to fill out an I-9 and other tax info papers.

MORE FLOOR!

So, here's what Kent's done today! He got a call and had to go.. he left his tools out so I'm not sure if he's planning to come back tonight or not.. I guess I'll find out in the morning when I see whether more progress is done or not. I've been here all day doing laundry. I really should do it more often so I'm not having to do 7 loads in one day. (There's really something to be said about only having enough underwear for a week... that means you HAVE to do laundry once a week.- someday I'll learn...

THE FLOOR!

I am so excited the floors have been started!! And it looks beautiful! Kent came over on Tuesday and did about 1/3rd of the front room in about 4 hours. above is the kitchen which is now the "cutting room". It's going to be loads of fun cleaning up dust from everywhere in the house once this project is done. - but it will be worth it! It's gorgeous! and this is just the "raw" version. Once it's been filled, sanded and sealed it will be even better! That little pile of wood by the cabinet is what can't be used so far.. either the tongue & groove is on the wrong side or the holes are just too big and the wood isn't worth using. I knew there would be some we couldn't use.. that's why they have you order 30% more than what you need, I just hope in the end, it will be enough to go clear to the laundry room like originally planned without having to buy more. I'm a worrier by nature, so until it's proven to be enough, I'll worry about it- darn it. I can't wait to fill in the holes to see what they look like. It's going to be amazing! I think I'm going to fill them in with black.. but I'll have to try a few out to see how it looks first and then decide for sure. I'm so glad I went with the 5" pieces. I love the big chunks of wood. I think Kent's glad too because it's making the installation go much faster too. lol! Thanks Kent!!
